From the introduction: 'The objectives of this study were to review the historical information on flying squirrels on MDI and conduct a survey to document the occurrence and distribution of northern and southern flying squirrels in Acadia National Park. We also evaluated several habitat characteristics reported to be important for these rodents in other parts of their ranges.' The report includes data on the squirrels caught (sex, age, number, weight) and habitat (conifer tree density and diameter, deciduous tree density and diameter, log density, snag density and the density of individual tree species.
