A study of the hydrology and geomorphic history of Cedar Sink, Mammoth Cave National Park. The first phase of this study included a cartographic survey of existing cave passages extending from the sink, and other passages in Joppa Ridge which are shown to be hydrologically related to this system along the course of principal drainage to the Green River. Stream tracing studies were conducted from areas on the Pennyroyal plain south of the park boundaries to known outlets along the Green River. A second phase of this study is to include stratigraphic delineation and a correlation of the observations made during the first phase with the findings of the cartographic survey and hydrologic studies. This file contains progress reports, cartographic survey data and maps. Caves include Sand Cave Spring, Owl Cave, South Cave, Smith Valley Cave, and Cedar Sink Cave.
