Characterization of ozone distribution on Mt. Desert Island

Unknown author. 1999. Characterization of ozone distribution on Mt. Desert Island

Set up 5 ozone monitoring sites on Mount Desert Island. 'As expected, the highest mean concentrations were observed on Cadillac Mountain (37.8 ppb). The lowest mean concentration was observed at the Northeast Harbor site (22.8 ppb). Mean concentrations were higher on the lee side (College of the Atlantic) than windward side (Northeast Harbor).' 'There was the expected strong association with site elevation.' Following from discussion: 'As expected the mean O3 concentrations were highest at the Cadillac Mountain site, but 25% to 40% lower near sea level. Thus, average exposures of the residents and visitors to Mound Desert Islnd was substantially less than indicated by the monitors on Cadillac Mountain and McFarland Hill.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Northeast Harbor/Jordan Pond/McFarland Hill/Cadillac Mountain/College of the Atlantic/
