Historical, ecological and geographical information about Long Island (which has an conservation easement, purchased by the US Government which obligates Acadia National Park to maintain and protect the land). Includes a summary of early human use of the island. Includes pie chart graphs of 'basal area for stand [x] by species', maps of forest types, and printouts of data for each stand (diameter, number of trees, basal area, total height, merch. height, pulp cubic feet, board feet). Some of this data is combined, some separated by tree species. Also includes maps of residences in the 1800s. Also notes that the field crew noted seeing 'the droppings of moose, deer, and porcupine.
