The report highlights both park and community efforts to preserve the island environment socially and ecologically; however, exponential growth of island tourism is above the recommended carrying capacity. It is recommended the park establish and enforce carrying capacity for island tourism on Isle au Haut so as not to jeopardize the island environment.
