Spiders (Araneae) of Schoodic Peninsula Acadia National Park

FIELD WORK: August 9,2001 Spiders (N=295) of 15 families, 51 genera, and at least 57 species were collected on 9 August 2001 from three sites (mixed conifer-hardwood forest, costal ledges, and hanging bog) of the Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia NP, Winter Harbor, Hancock County, Maine. Fully 24 species not previously collected were added to the faunal list for the peninsula.' Descriptions of four basic methodologies used for collections is provided, as well, GPS coordinates for sites and habiatat types are available. Recomendations are made on future sampling methods and techniques to maximize captured diversity of Araneae on the Peninsula. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /SCHOODIC PENINSULA/ GIS-Category 1 (coordiantes for study locations are given)
