The official abstract: "A survey of visitors to the carriage roads of Acadia National Park was conducted in the summer and fall of 1994. Findings from the survey provide baseline information on visitor use and users, including visitor characteristics, use patterns, potential indicators of the quality of the visitor experience, and perceived problems and management issues on the carriage roads such as crowding and use conflicts.
