'In this study, we applied a baited granular formulation of hydramethylnon to assess efficacy for control of M. rubra, and to evaluate persistence and physical spread of effects from the treated area.' 'Field trails were conducted with 0.73% hydramethylnon in a granular ant bait (Amdro) for control of the imported and, Myrmica rubra Latreille. Application to a linear plot (3.05 x 22.86 m) resulted in 92.9% control for the week after application, with subsequent declining levels of control and no control outside the treated area. This material can control M. rubra, but further study is needed on the relationship between distribution of treatment and spatial and temporal distribution of effects, and on the potential for nontarget effects when used in or near natural areas.'
