Following taken from summary: 'Friends of Acadia Ridgerunners and park volunteers made hourly counts of hikers reaching the summits of Acadia, Champlain, Pemetic, Penobscot, and Sargent Mountains between mid-June and the end of August of 2002 and 2003. Counts on the first four of these summits were for 3 consecutive hours beginning at 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 noon. Counts on Sargent Mountain were for six hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. Over the two year period, we counted on Sargent Mountain for 118.5 hours; for the other four mountains it was 101 hours.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Acadia Mountain/Champlain Mountain/Pemetic Mountain/Penobscot Mountain/Sargent Mountain/
