Seawall Campground Water Tower

Following taken from report, project information section: 'The National Park Service (NPS) plans to updgrade the Seawall campground's water delivery system and to demolish the water tower as part of this project. The water tower is a contributing element of the Seawall Campground Historic District, which is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. In accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as amended (36 CFR 800), the NPS consulted with the Maine State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) about the potential effects of the project. The SHPO concurred with the NPS finding that the project would have an adverse effect on a historic property. As mitigation for the adverse effect, the NPS agreed to document the tower for the state according to HAER documentation standards.' 'The public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. (PAL) of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was contracted by Acadia National Park to prepare HAER documentation for the Seawall Campground Water Tower. The large format photography was completed by Robert Brewster of Warren Jagger Photography, Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island.'
