Contractor K, Leicy J, Eshbach B, Williams J, Hahn N, Hoffman K, Perry T, Schneider B, Manende K. 2005. Long Island Inventory 2005
Following sections taken from portions of the report: 'The purpose of the study on Long Island was to determine if past land use has affected forest succession. The study took place from May 18 through May 20 2005 on the southeast tip of Long Island in Blue Hill Bay. The study used three procedures: variable width transect cruises, tree coring, and searching for wire existing from earlier years. A base camp was set up on the shore and crews went into the forests to perform the various procedures. The transect cruising and wire searching were done on May 18 and May 19 2005, while the tree coring was done exclusively on May 20 2005.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /LONG ISLAND/
