FIELD WORK: 2007 A portion from the Executive Summary: "'Estimations of carriage road use levels indicate that visitation did not exceed 3,000 visitors per day. Based on the simulation model, persons-per-viewscape (PPV) crowding standards for the high and low use zone were not violated. Overall, carriage road use in July and August was similar to and somewhat higher than most previous years. Fifteen days exceeded 2,000 estimated carriage road visitors; the highest daily use estimate was 2,906 on August 9. There was modest correlation with traffic counter data for the Park Loop Road collected by the National Park Service Public Use Statistics Office.
