A description of hiker use of mountain summits during 2006 and 2007. Following taken from summary: 'Friends of Acadia Ridgerunners and park volunteers made hourly counts of hikers reaching the summits of Acadia, Champlain, Pemetic, Penobscot, and Sargent Mountains between late May and early September of 2006 and 2007. Counts on the first fourof these summits were for 3 consecutive hours beginning at 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 noon. Counts on Sargent Mountain were for six hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. We counted on Acadia Mountain 16 times, Champlain Mountain 17 times, Pemetic Mountain 20 times, Penobscot Mountain 14 times, and Sargent Mountain 12 times.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Acadia Mountain/Champlain Mountain/Pemetic Mountain/Penobscot Mountain/Sargent Mountain/
