From Objective, 'The principal objective of this report is to create a series of management alternatives for Baker Island'. From Abstract, 'This report presents and recommends management alternatives for Baker Island, a small island owned by Acadia National Park. The cultural resources of Baker Island are regionally significant because they represent the histories of many of Maine's coastal islands. I present six management alternatives in this report: no action, fire management, forest cutting, grazing, mowing and herbicide use. I conclude with the recommendation that a combination of fire management and forest cutting is the safest, most effective strategy to maintain and preserve the cultural resouces of Baker Island.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ISLANDS/Baker Island/
