'Objectives of the work were the formulation of management plans for improving fishing on the two lakes and obtaining of general fisheries information applicable to these and other Maine waters.' FISH: Alewives and salmon were stocked in Echo Lake and Long Pond. These lakes and adjacent streams were improved by removal of obstructions and the addition of gravel to tributaries. Conducted creel censuses, tributary trapping, growth studies, feeding studies, seasonal upstream and downstream movements, and parasites. Lists the fishes of Long Pond and Echo Lake. WATER QUALITY: Notes the vertical distribution of temperature and dissolved oxygen in Long Pond and Echo Lake. INSECTS & ARACHNIDS: Notes the dragonfly Cordulegaster maculatus from Echo Lake. INVERTEBRATES: During June - August 1951, studied Metazoan parasites on Smallmouth Bass and Sebago Salmon.
