FIELD WORK: 1966-67. MAMMALS - DEER: Tested four strip census methods to count deer. Reports roughly 200 deer on Isle au Haut in 1966 and 1967. All were reported to be in poor physical condition compared to mainland deer. Twenty to twenty-seven fawns were found per 100 does. The sex ratio was 29-58 males per 100 females. Deer size was also examined. Parasites on the deer were analyzed. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ISLE AU HAUT
