FIELD WORK: Winter 1977-1978. BIRDS: Winter feeding behavior of the Eider was studied. Does not give raw data on flock size or age composition of the birds seen. INVERTEBRATES: Cover estimates were made for Mytilus edulis, Balanus balanoides, and Littorina littorea at 5 observation areas. FLORA - ALGAE: Cover estimates were made for algae at the 5 observation localities. Not identified to species. GEOLOGY: Cover estimates were made for rock, sand, and shells at the observation localities /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Anemone Cave/Thunder Hole/Western Point/Bracy Cove/Seawall
