FIELD WORK: October 1964 - June 1966. FLORA - ALGAE: Tide-pools (on Mount Desert Island) were scraped free of all macroscopic life and 'cleaned' with HCl and sodium hypochlorite. Studied algal repopulation of these tide pools and graphed monthly abundance of each species for each tide pool. 52 species of algae, 5 genera of diatoms, and 8 invertebrates were noted /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND
