'Information on bat species for this locale is limited and would benefit from a formal search to identify migrant and perhaps native species.' 'This will involve a systematic survey of potential feeding areas and habitat with a bat detector - an electronic receiver capable of detecting bat sonar and converting it to audible frequencies. These frequencies act as so-called fingerprints, identifying individual species by their unique acoustical characteristics.
