Surveyed 77 areas on Mount Desert Island for presence of active or historic beaver activity. Activity was found at 23 sites. Descriptions are given for dams located. Damage caused by beavers in each area (if any), types of trees destroyed and predominant trees used for feeding and building are noted for each site.
