From Introduction, 'The central objective of this study is to evaluate the current population of beaver on Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park.' Includes the results of a ground survey of beaver activity on Mount Desert Island, confirming the accuracy of the aerial survey conducted 11/2/89. Estimates population at 102 animals. Notes that majority of beaver sites on the island are in areas burned by 1947 fire /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/
