Devaul HA and Marion SF. 1984. Harbor Porpoise, Phocoena phocoena in the Mount Desert Area of the Gulf of Maine: a study to determine seasonal population dynamics, with notes on sightability, behavior, and movements. Southwest Harbor, ME
A population study done around Mount Desert Island and Isle Au Haut on the Harbor Porpoise. 'During the past several years consistent trends have been observed in the distribution and abundance of the porpoise in the MDI area throughout the summer months. It was the intent of this study to deal with a smaller area than did the NEA survey, concentrating on the seasonal population dynamics, behavior and ecology of the porpoise in this region.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ISLANDS/Great Cranberry Island/Little Cranberry Island/Mount Desert Rock/Little Duck Island/John Island Ledge/ISLE AU HAUT/
