Gerber RG and Clifford LG. 1989. Southwest Harbor annual water quality report
FIELD WORK: 16-17 January 1989. Sampled surface water, ground water, domestic and non-domestic wells at 14 sites in the vicinity of Worcester Landfill. Presents data collected for 1980-89 in tabular form. Constituents measured include: conductivity, total dissolved solids, hardness, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, chloride, total iron, total phosphorous, COD, and pH. Gives brief discussion of the results at each sample site for 1989 data. Comments that surface water quality in the east ditch of the landfill has improved since the landfill shut down, however the west ditch has shown no sign of improvement. Groundwater quality, as indicated by monitoring wells, showed no sign of change since 1987. Three wells appeared to be slightly contaminated /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Long Pond/Marshall Brook/Southwest Harbor/Worcester Landfill GIS-CATEGORY 3 ; Hydrology: Map shows the locations of sample locations.
