Archaeology at Fernald Point site--end of excavation report

Johnson B. 1977. Archaeology at Fernald Point site--end of excavation report

FIELD WORK: July 4 - August 12 1977. A total of 48 square meters were excavated and the earth screened in quarter inch mesh screens. 'The site proved to be culturally productive along the entire 70 meter coastal margin. Limited tests in the areas of site removed from the coast helped to define functionally specific areas within the site. The definition of several features also supports the assumption that this site includes a variety of descrete, culturally determined areas of diverse function.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Fernald Point/
