O'Meara D and Gill J. 1965. The Serology and Blood Chemistry of a White-Tailed Deer Herd in Maine. National Park Service. Orono, ME

Blood tests were taken from a number of deer on Mount Desert Island. Hematology and blood chemistry values were found to be extremely variable and not useful for estimating herd or individual health of deer in Mount Desert Island herds. Others tests are discussed that might be of value for measuring deer health. Serological tests indicated herd contact with four serotypes of leptospira /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND
