Smith K. 1987. Synopsis of Exotic Plant Study Conducted by Keith Smith : Summer 1987. National Park Service. Mount Desert Island, ME

FIELD WORK: Homesteads within the Acadia National Park boundary noted on a 1938 map of Mount Desert Island and not noted on a 1971 map of the island were field checked for exotic species. Additional searches were also conducted of many areas in the park. A half day search of Schoodic Peninsula was conducted with limited results. Three days were spent searching on Isle au Haut. An attached map shows areas where exotic plants were located; reference to attached charts describes the exotic species observed. Locations of old foundations and homesteads are noted. Distribution of Purple Loosestrife is discussed. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/ISLE AU HAUT/ GIS-CATEGORY 2 ; Flora: Lists and maps locations of invasive species
