Report is split into 3 chapters as follows: Chapter 1--Introduction to the water resources of Acadia National Park; Chapter 2--The hydrologic environment of Acadia National Park; Chapter 3--Issues and management recommendations. This report is intended to guide water resource protection and research in the Park for the next 5-10 years and numerous recommendations regarding research, monitoring, inventory, management, and public education and visitor impact are presented. The description of the hydrological environment includes summaries of weather, precipitation and fog chemistry, air quality, atmospheric deposition, geology, soil characteristics, watershed characteristics, vegetation and fire history, a summary of lake and stream chemistry, groundwater, wetlands, marine resources, aquatic and riparian resources and habitats, consumptive and non-consumptive uses of water resources, legal relationships and responsibilities, artificial hydrologic control structures (dams), and threats to water resources. Overall, this is an excellent summary of studies related to water resources conducted at Acadia National Park
