Hadlock and Canon Brook watershed project

Carpenter M, Gallant T, Hazlett M, Lubera J, Mueller D, Stratton S, National Park Service, Acadia National Park. 1999. Hadlock and Canon Brook watershed project

From Introduction, 'a comparative study between burned over areas and unburned climax forests.' Comparison of two watersheds in Acadia National Park, one of which was several burned by a fire in 1947, the other which was not. Looked at vegetation health and diversity (percent cover, basal area, tree height, tree diameter, crown vigor, crown class, live crown ratio, crown width and age, sampling species and height). Includes vegetation maps for each watershed. Indicates that the findings are preliminary because there were too few sample sites. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Hadlock Brook/Canon Brook/
