Terrestrial isopods are predominantly non-native. Seven species have been reported from Maine. Sampled 43 sites within ANP on MDI and noted 1098 non-native isopod individuals belong to five families, 6 genera, and 6 species (Hyloniscus riparius (first record for Maine), Oniscus asellus, Philoscia muscorum, Porcellio scaber, Trachelipus rathkii, Trichoniscus pusillus). Porcellio spinicornis was observed on MDI, but outside of ANP. Includes representative photographs of the 43 sites sampled. Research recommendations: sample efforts should be concentrated in developed and urbanized areas within the park boundaries, because these are the areas where additional species are expected to be found. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/ GIS-CATEGORY 1 ; Contains a table of geographic coordinates for all sampling locations.
