Kahl JS, Andersen JL, Norton SA. 1986. The geochemistry of the surface waters of Acadia National Park. In Fourth conference on research in the National Parks. Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. July 13-18, 1986

FIELD WORK: 1982-84. The chemistry of 18 lakes and ponds and 23 first and second order streams were studied to ascertain water quality. Includes base flow pH, and alkalinities for each site and notes that baseline pH has not changed historically, and that declines in alkalinity has probably averaged 30ueq/l /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Aunt Betty Pond/Bear Brook Pond/The Bowl/Breakneck Ponds/Bubble Pond/Duck Pond/Eagle Lake/Echo Lake/Upper Hadlock Pond/Lower Hadlock Pond/Halfmoon Pond/Hodgdon Pond/Jordan Pond/Lake Wood/Long Pond/Little Long Pond/Reservoir/Round Pond/Sargent Mountain Pond/Seal Cove Pond/The Tarn/Witch Hole Pond/Breakneck Brook/Bubble Brook/Canon Brook/Cromwell Brook/Duck Brook/Gilmore Brook/Hadlock Brook/Heath Brook/Hunters Brook/Kebo Brook/Little Harbor Brook/Parkman Brook/Stanley Brook/Parkman Brook/Penobscot Brook
