Gerber RG. 1984. To: Michael Knowles, Southwest Harbor Town Manager. Re: No Title

'At your request, we have taken water samples from surface water locations and monitoring wells located around the Worcester landfill at the same locations that we sampled in 1982 with the exception of bedrock monitoring well R3, which was frozen at the time of sampling.' Presents water testing results from Marshall Brook and nearby monitoring wells (ten sites). Constituents measured include: conductivity, TDS, hardness, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, iron, phosphorous, and COD. Results indicate Worcester landfill is probably not having a significant effect on ground water, however, concentrations of contaminants in the east ditch of the landfill, and in Marshall Brook downstream, are increasing significantly. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Worcester Landfill/Marshall Brook/Southwest Harbor
