Gerber RG. 1985. To: Michael Knowles, Southwest Harbor Town Manager. Re: No Title

'As you requested, we have sampled the surface water and ground water in the vicinity of the Worcester Landfill at the same monitoring points that we have in the past.' The latest sampling does not indicate any major trends in water quality. Ground water quality in the monitoring wells is generally good except as they may be affected by the steel well casing. Surface water quality in the ditches and in Marshall Brook below the landfill are poor. The west ditch of the landfill is the worst water quality that it has been since 1982 and the two sampling points on Marshall Brook continue to exhibit poor water quality indicative of definite impact from the landfill. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Long Pond/Worcester Landfill/Marshall Brook/Southwest Harbor/
