From Introduction, "student report summarizing the data collected and results." Summary data and notes collected by undergraduate students in ecology courses. The study area was Bass Harbor Marsh and Big Heath. Very informal. At Bass Harbor Marsh, 2 hours were spent sampling a 90 meter transect from the tidal stream to the upper freshwater wetland. Plots were sampled every 10 meters with 6 1-m plots at each transect point. The vegetation of Big Heath was sampled using a releve method. Four 5-meter square plots were established: one on the bog lawn, dwarf scrub shrub zone, scrub-shrub zone, and lagg zone.
