Field surveys were conducted in 2004 and 2005 to document the presence of federally-listed and state-listed plant species of special concern in Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. The surveys attempted to confirm the presence of species of special concern that had been documented in previous years as well as to discover the presence of species of special concern that had not been previously documented. Eleven state-listed species of special concern had been documented in Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site during various surveys prior to 2004, and all of these species, except for the cranefly orchid, were confirmed as still being present during the field surveys in 2004 and 2005. Ten state-listed species of special concern were documented for the first time in Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site during the field surveys in 2004 and 2005.
