Integrated upland vegetation and soils monitoring for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: 2009 summary report (revised)

DeCoster JK and Swan MC. 2011. Integrated upland vegetation and soils monitoring for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: 2009 summary report (revised). Natural Resource Data Series. NPS/SCPN/NRDS—2011/208. National Park Service, Natural Resource Stewardship and Science. Fort Collins, Colorado

In 2008 the Integrated Upland Monitoring program of SCPN began monitoring upland sites at GLCA with the installation of 10 plots in the Desert Sand ecological site. We plan to sample the quadrats and gap intercept transects annually for three years to determine the range of temporal variability for key metrics. In this report, we document monitoring activities in the 2009 field season and compare these data with the data collected in 2008.
