I recommend approval of Bright's proposed revision to reduce the drive pipe and surface casing size. I agree with Bright's assessment of less waste generation, and cost savings. The reduction in hole size should increase drilling time. This in turn reduces all forms of waste generation and impacts to PAIS. I would inform them in writing through your normal procedures. The body of the approval letter could be as follows: Re: November 3, 1994 Request for Revision to the Plan of Operations for the Dunn-McCampbell No.1 Well Dear Mr. Hunt: The National Park Service approves Bright & Company's request to reduce the drive pipe and surface surface casing size as proposed in your November 3, 1994 correspondence. The revised page 14 replaces the current page 14 Dunn-McCampbell No.1 Well Plan Operations. The understands the proposed revision will not alter subsequent to cementing the surface casing.
