Jernigan J, Carson BC, Leibfreid T. 2011. Cumberland Piedmont Network Ozone and Foliar Injury Report- Chickamauga and Chattanooga NMP, Mammoth Cave NP and Stones River NB: Annual Report 2010. Natural Resource Data Series. NPS/CUPN/NRDS—2011/219. National Park Service. Fort Collins, Colorado
This is the Cumberland Piedmont Network’s (CUPN) third annual report on ozone concentration and associated foliar injury. Data were collected during 2010 at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park (CHCH), Mammoth Cave NP (MACA) and Stones River National Battlefield (STRI). Ozone concentration/foliar injury data and associated analyses are presented for each of these three parks. Both CHCH and MACA had ozone concentrations that are theoretically high enough to cause foliar injury to sensitive plants. Foliar injury was confirmed only at MACA. Also included in this report are summary statistics for ozone data from off-park state-operated monitors located around the remaining CUPN parks.
