Day by day account of trip into the Olympic Mountains in September 1899. Portus Baxter and L. F. Murdoch traveled from Seattle to Hoodsport and on to Antlers, a resort on Lake Cushman. At Antlers they met up iwth Roland Hopper. They hiked up the Skokomish, around Mt. Steel, and into the upper Duckabush before returning to Antlers.
