The NPS and APVA initiated this planning in 1998 with the Jamestown Project Development Concept Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (DCP/EIS). The Record of Decision (ROD) was signed in May of 2003 and as of 2008, most of these elements have been implemented. As mitigation for proposed impacts to these resources, the NPS and APVA included requirements for a natural resource assessment and long-term monitoring in the ROD for the DCP/EIS. This document is designed to comply with the first of these two requirements. More specifically, the purpose of this Natural Resource Assessment is twofold: to update the database of existing conditions with respect to natural resources within the footprint of the Jamestown Project. to compare the nature and extent of the developments prescribed within the DCP/EIS versus those actually realized and the implications for natural resources (if any)
