Bradford MR. 1994. To: US Soil Conservation Service. Re: Bradford_1994_RequestReviewCommentPlanOfOperationEnvironmentalAssessment

Pursuant to Executive order 11990, "Protection of Wetlands" and Executive Order 11988, "Floodplains Management," we request your review and comment on the enclosed Plan of operations and Environmental Assessment for Exploratory Drilling and Production of the Dunn-McCampbell #1 Gas Well within Padre Island National Seashore, proposed by Bright and Company. Bright and Company has sited their proposed operations to avoid impacts to wetlands, and has developed mitigation measures to minimize unavoidable impacts. Bright and Company proposes to compensate for direct loss of 0.40 acres of non-tidal wetlands by restoring 0.80 acres of an abandoned oil and gas access road to its original wind-tidal flat condition. The wetlands compensation project is also located at Padre Island National Seashore. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Linda Dansby, Regional Minerals Coordinator, in the Division of Environmental Coordination, at telephone 505-988-6711. We would appreciate receiving your comments by September 9, 1994.
