Oryx Energy Co., Dallas, announced an oil discovery in Kleberg County about 13 mile north-west of Riviera. The No. 73 A.T. Canales flowed 682.6 barrels of 42.3 gravity oil a day plus 39.8 barrels of water on 16/64-inch choke with 1360 pounds flowing tubing pressure. Gas-oil ratio was 797-1. Production is from perforation between 7,338-72 feet in the T-C-B Field, H-61 Sand. Wainoco Oil and Gas Co., Houston, has a new gas sand in a worked-over Yeary Field well about 1.5 miles northwest of Loyola. The No. 1 Leo Yaklin flowed 198 barrels of 42.2 gravity pipeline oil a day on 14/64-inch choke with 920 pounds flowing tubing pressure. Gas-oil ratio was 1727-1. Production is from perforations between 7345-48 feet in the 7350-foot sand. Bright and Company, San Antonio, plans to drill directionally an 8500-foot wildcat approximately 23 miles south of Flour Bluff to be known as the No. 1 Dunn-McCampbell. Location will be 7719 feet from the (ext) west line and 7786 feet from the (ext) north line of State Tract 202 in Juan Jose Nicolas Balli Survey, A-10. Bottomhole scales 6608 feet from the west line (ext) of State Tract 202 and 6635 feet from the (ext) north line of State Tract 202 in Juan Jose and Nicolas Balli Survey, A-10.
