The captioned well, situated between two and three statute miles off the Padre Island National Seashore, commenced drilling on October 5, 1983. It is currently still being drilled with a contemplated completion date within a month of the date shown above. Such completion date would place Chevron, as operator, in the position of needing to drill beyond the March 15 deadline for cessation of drilling operations. We are concerned about this situation and by means of this letter wish to both provide specific information with regard to the well and inquire as to any procedure for an extension beyond March 15 of the deadline for drilling operations.
