Dearing GH. 1984. To: Hancock ME. Re: Dearing_1984_TemporaryApprovalContinueOperations
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. currently operates the referenced surface tract within the boundaries of the Padre Island National Seashore. This operation is authorized by Special Use Permit, No. 7490-36 of the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service. This permit expires February 22, 1984. The operations being conducted by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. on the permitted tract are ongoing and continuous. If Chevron were to suspend operations on the February 22, 1984, expiration date, it would result in a serious economic burden upon Chevron. Therefore, by this letter, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. requests, pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Section 9.38, that it be granted temporary approval to continue operations for sixty (60) days from the expiration date of Special Use Permit No. 7490-36. Representatives of Chevron U.S.A. Inc. are currently preparing a Plan of Operations which will be submitted prior to the expiration date of any temporary approval which may be granted. Please advise of any action taken with regard to this request.
