Since it has been several months since we last communicated, I felt I should provide you with a brief update on efforts at the site of the former Chevron Field shore-based facilities on Padre Island National Seashore. In my last letter to you, dated April 18, 1994, I informed you that Chevron would be unable to provide the Department of the Interior with a work plan within the requested 30 day time frame. Since that time, much progress has been made and some historical materials related to the operation of the field have been located.
