I have received your letter requesting the preparation of a work plan for the proposed site characterization report for the former Chevron Field Shore Facility located in Padre Island National Seashore. Due to other project constraints, the work plan will not be submitted to you within the 30 day period that you requested. I do want to assure you, however, that I will be giving the Padre Island site my full attention as seen as possible. The documents and correspondence that the National Park Service has in its files regarding the operation and abandonment of the subject facility might provide information that could be useful in developing the work plan. If it all possible, I would appreciate copies of these files and would be happy to reimburse the National Park Service for any burdensome copying or handling charges.
