As the new Superintendent of Padre Island National Seashore, I am studying various management issues related to our resources. One of the issues is that of the hydrocarbon contamination that still remains at your old Shorebase Production Facility. This facility was located adjacent to the Novillo Line Camp, a cultural site listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and one of the last remnants of the historic cattle ranching era on Padre Island.
