The purpose of this literature review and critical analysis is to synthesize the academic research directed at non-traditional racial minority audiences and their relationship to National Parks. By integrating the literature from Ethnic Studies, Chicano/a Studies, Communication, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management and Social Sciences, this review attempts to provide new perspectives and best practices associated with engaging people of color with nature in general and National Parks in particular.
