From Introduction: "In 1993 the National Park Service undertakes studies to gain better understanding of these special communities, implement quantitative long-term monitoring, and identify any potential factor that me be adversely affecting them. The objectives of this study are to: 1) characterize summit vegetation in terms of community associations and map distribution of these communities; 2) generally assesses levels of visitor use and apparent vegetation effects from this use; and 3) recommends appropriate mitigation actions for heavily affected areas." Each site studied is discussed in the results section, and though GIS was mentioned in the report as being used for the study no coordinates, sample site locations, or maps of community structure areas are provided.
