This document presents a concept for the development and management of a system of trails in the lower Clark Fork from Thompson Falls, Montana to Clark Fork, Idaho. It describes the trail segments that make up this system and it explains the planning process used to develop the vision for this trail system. It also portrays the natural and cultural resources in the corridor, trail and facilities design guidelines, operation and management concepts, interpretation and education ideas, funding opportunities, and implementation strategies. Key components of the plan include a description of the: § natural and cultural resources in the corridor; § vision and goals for the trail system; § the core of the concept including segment descriptions, design considerations, type of proposed use, and ideas for management; and § implementation recommendations including prioritization and phasing of development and identification of next steps.
