Fixed-station water quality data entry and certification

Dingle J and Rinehart A. 2012. Fixed-station water quality data entry and certification. National Park Service

The following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the procedure for certifying the fixed station water quality data. The purpose for certifying the continuous data is to ensure that it is accurate before report uploading into databases and being used in reports. Areas of concerns are flagged as suspicious and noted to data users. Laboratory data (i.e., nutrients and chlorophyll a) are entered manually upon being received from the lab. Field and laboratory blanks and replicate samples are compared for accuracy prior to entry.
